Manuscript Preparation

• The maximum word limit for research articles is 6,000 words (including references).
• Book reviews should be between 1,200 and 1,500 words and must include complete bibliographic details of the book: subtitle, author, place of publication, publisher, year of publication, number of pages, and price.
• Manuscripts should be typed in double spacing.
• All articles must be accompanied by an abstract (150–250 words) as a single paragraph, followed by 5–6 keywords.

Content and Style

The manuscript should clearly articulate the objective, scope (theme, study area, and time frame), methodology, main findings, and the broader message derived from the study. The journal follows British English spellings as per the Oxford Dictionary.

Tables, Figures, and Maps

• Tables, figures, and maps should be placed within the text at appropriate locations and numbered sequentially.
• Their positions should be indicated in the text with callouts (e.g., (Table 1)).
• Each table/figure must have a clear title, explanatory caption (if needed), and source.
• Tables and figures should also be submitted separately in MS Excel.
• Figures and maps must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, minimum width of 4 inches, and be submitted in TIFF or JPEG format.
• All tables, figures, and maps should maintain consistency in design and presentation. Maps must be properly scaled.

Acknowledgements, Notes, and References

• Acknowledgements, Notes, and References should appear at the end of the manuscript.
• Notes should be numbered serially and presented as footnotes. They must provide substantive information beyond mere references (except for website sources, which should include the access date).
• Authors must follow the APA referencing style (author-date method) for in-text citations and the reference list. For details, refer to: APA Style Guidelines .

Declarations and Author Information

1. Declaration of Originality

“The manuscript titled ‘……’ submitted for Man & Development is original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. It will not be submitted to any other journal until a final decision is received from Man & Development. The manuscript does not infringe any copyright and is free from plagiarism.”

2. Disclosure of Conflict of Interest

“I/We have read and approved the content of the manuscript titled ‘……’. I/We declare that there is no potential conflict of interest regarding this manuscript. The work complies with ethical standards and has been conducted under accepted ethical norms.”

• In case of multiple authors, the corresponding author (who will handle all communication with the editorial office) must be clearly identified.
• Author details should be submitted separately and include: Title of the manuscript, Name(s), Affiliation(s), and Email ID(s).

Submission Requirements

• Authors must submit two hard copies (mandatory) along with a soft copy in MS Word format via email.
• Preference will be given to manuscripts that align with the journal’s core focus, a critical analysis of the processes underlying the socio-economic, political, and cultural transformation of societies, including policy implications.

Review and Publication Process

• All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
• Acceptance and publication are subject to reviewer feedback and any required revisions by the author(s).
• Authors are solely responsible for the views expressed and the authenticity of the data used.

Copy Editing and Copyright

• Accepted manuscripts will undergo copy editing. Authors are expected to approve the copy-edited version. Any reservations should be communicated at the time of submission.
• The copyright of all published articles rests with Man & Development. No material can be reproduced without prior written permission of the Editor.
